Major General Carol A. Timmons Memorial Scholarship

The Major General Carol A. Timmons Memorial Scholarship is a program, administered by the Delaware National Guard Youth Foundation, created in honor of the late Major General Carol A. Timmons. General Timmons capped a dignified 42-year military career as the first woman to lead the Delaware National Guard as Adjutant General from February 1, 2017, until her retirement on March 2, 2019. General Timmons was a truly compassionate leader who ensured every policy she updated and every action she took was intended to create an inclusive work environment. She was an advocate for the Soldiers and Airmen who didn’t otherwise have a voice. She was truly a leader who inspired many.

General Timmons was an unwavering supporter of our Guard Youth. She recognized and routinely expressed the importance of continuing education. She was a proud Delawarean and was a graduate of William Penn High School and a double alumna of Wilmington University, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1984, and a Master of Science degree in Management, Public Administration, in 2013.
